What do young Muslims in South Australia want to know during COVID-19?
This podcast series helps provide answers to struggles young people are dealing with right now.
Our PEACE Multicultural Services team was approached by Wellbeing SA about the increased number of wellbeing issues for young Muslims (without a spike in numbers seeking professional help).
To explore this further, PEACE contacted faith leaders of different local mosques and the Islamic Society of South Australia. In working together, it became apparent that Muslim young people and their parents are seeking increased help and support from faith leaders (mainly to do with their wellbeing).
To answer some questions, a series of podcasts was co-designed and co-recorded with:
- Representation from Islamic Society of South Australia
- Memoona Rafique, Senior Counsellor at Relationships Australia
- Dr. Ayesha Abu Bakr, Psychiatrist and Muslim
- Young Muslim participants.
