Free parenting support from Children and Parenting Support

The Children and Parenting (CaPS) are available to support parents and their children (aged under 12) during this challenging time. Families in Semaphore to Outer Harbour, Blair Athol or Enfield can access telephone, email or telephone online video support at no cost.

The Children and Parenting (CaPS)  is a service made up of family and child specialists who are available to support parents and their children (aged under 12) during the added stressors of parenting during homeschooling, social distancing, isolation and quarantine.

For families living in the suburbs from Semaphore to Outer Harbour, Blair Athol or Enfield the service can provide telephone, email or online video support, at no cost.

For Child Care Educators, Teachers, Family Practitioners:

If you are worried about how a family at your school or centre is coping with parenting, talk to a specialist parenting counsellor at CaPS to discuss a referral for support.

CaPS specialists can:

  • Provide your parents with customised support about parenting and be positively connected with their kids
  • Provide ideas for therapeutic activities to help your families manage parenting during homeschooling and social isolation
  • We can drop off tailor-made resource packs with activities and information specifically for the family’s children
  • Provide up-to-date Public Health Information on COVID-19 and ways to talk about it with their children.

CaPS can provide referrals to other Relationships Australia South Australia counselling and support services if other issues are concerning your families at this time

For Parents at Home with Children

During high-stress situations, everyone could use some support.

Talk to a parenting counsellor to debrief and discuss the support your family needs with a specialist who understands the pressures of parenting.

CaPS specialists will:

  • Connect you to customised support about parenting and staying positively connected with your kids
  • Provide ideas for activities to help you manage parenting while living with social distancing and isolation
  • After speaking with you, we can drop off tailor-made resource packs with activities and information specifically for your children
  • Provide up-to-date Public Health Information on COVID-19 and ways to talk about it with your children.

CaPS can provide referrals to other Relationships Australia South Australia counselling and support services if other issues are concerning you at this time.
