We say thank you to our volunteers during National Volunteer Week!
National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration of volunteers. It recognises the enormous contribution that volunteers make to communities across Australia.
This year the theme is RECOGNISE. RECONNECT. REIMAGINE.
We acknowledge and support this theme by:
Recognising our volunteers’ extraordinary passion and effort
Reconnecting people with meaningful volunteer opportunities
Reimagining how we can celebrate and support them as they support us.
This week we wish to celebrate and recognise our team of over 200 volunteers. Their dedication supports the work of our paid staff across various programs. Our volunteers are active in the following programs:
- Time for Kids | 140 volunteer carers and mentors.
They provide care and support, building lifelong relationships with at-risk children and families.
- Gambling Help Service – Consumer Voice Program | 16 volunteer speakers
They educate about gambling help through sharing personal stories and lived experience. This includes presenting 85 presentations each year.
- Post Adoption Support Service – Mentor Adoptee Group | 16 volunteer mentors
They support and mentor a group of 20 young adoptees.
- ASKPEACE | 11 volunteer Community Consultants
They respond to the mental health and wellbeing concerns of CALD communities during COVID-19.
- GoodLife Project | 11 volunteer Community Consultants
They support the delivery of a domestic violence prevention program to Australia-African communities.
We sincerely thank all our volunteers for their ongoing contribution. Their fantastic work helps us to provide support to individuals, children, families and communities.
