Aged Care Trauma Awareness Education
Aged Care Trauma Awareness + Education will build skills within the aged care workforce to better support and care for people who experienced trauma as children in out-of-home institutions.
Trauma-Aware and Healing-Informed Aged Care
The Aged Care Trauma Awareness + Education project will deliver national training and education to better recognise and respond to the needs of Forgotten Australians and Care Leavers in aged care settings. It will raise awareness and enhance skills in providing person-centred, trauma-aware care to people who have experienced childhood trauma.
Consultation
Educational resources will be developed following consultation with people with lived expertise, the aged care sector, Find and Connect Support Services, peak bodies, and stakeholders in all states and territories.
Εκπαίδευση
Online Aged Care Trauma Awareness training will be available from January 2027. It will be available nationally as a dedicated training resource for the Aged Care workforce, supporting people who work in Aged Care settings to provide trauma-aware and healing-informed care to people who experienced trauma in residential care settings, earlier in their lives.
