The DCR Support Service is for donors and people who were conceived by donor conception prior to September 2004, seeking support due to the legislation change.

We provide support through counselling, assistance with searching for biological relatives and support in facilitating connections between donor conceived individuals and donors.

Support from a qualified counsellor who understand the complex emotions and challenges that may arise as a result of the legislation changes and in accessing the donor conception register.

Counselling and support, which may be in relation to information they have found, missing historic information that they hoped to find, or information that may be contained in the Donor Conception Register. Support is also available to family members.

There is not cost for our support services.

Donor-Conceived People
If you were donor-conceived before September 2004, there may be some aspects of the law changes and using the DCR that leave you feeling uncertain or emotionally distressed.
We provide :- Free, confidential counselling
- Help accessing the DCR and making sense of the information you receive
- Guidance on connecting with donors or siblings
- Support having sensitive conversations with others
- Further checks of information on your DCR request where there are gaps in historic records
Donors
If you donated before September 2004 on the condition of anonymity, recent law changes may leave you with a range of emotions and present unique challenges that our trained professionals can help you to navigate.
We provide :- Free, confidential counselling
- Clarity around your rights and responsibilities
- Support having sensitive conversations with others
- Assistance in managing contact from a donor-conceived person or people
Parents of Donor-Conceived People
Before September 2004, you may have been advised not to tell your child the truth about their conception. Changes to these laws may have left you feeling like you need support.
We provide:
- Free, confidential counselling
- Support understanding the changes and information that may now be available
- Advice on disclosing information to your child or others
