Commemoration of World AIDS Day, including ‘Positive Change Movement’ presentations.
World AIDS Day is a world-wide event held annually on the 1st of December, to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. It is also a day for people to show their support for those currently affected by HIV and to commemorate the many lives lost because of it.
PEACE Multicultural Services hosts a yearly event to honour World AIDS day, this year it will be held on Thursday 22nd of November. They believe people affected by HIV have the right to participate in a community free from stigma and discrimination, therefore creating a safe space; for sharing, learning and connecting is important.
The event attracts participation from community groups, community leaders, faith leaders, service providers and people living with HIV.
Presentations on the day will highlight some of the activities carried out throughout the year, as part of the ‘Positive Change Movement’, which recognises the need for collective action to challenge stigma and discrimination, by improving access to information, prevention, treatment, care and support.
PEACE Multicultural Services would love you to join them at this year’s event!
