RASA Welcomes Time for Kids
Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA) is proud and excited to welcome Time for Kids into the RASA family. On 1 December 2018, we merged together and in the New Year, Time for Kids will be working out of their new home at our Hindmarsh site (49a Orsmond Street). The program will be led by Nikki Hartmann.
Time for Kids is a South Australian not for profit with a mission to create opportunities for children to achieve their full potential by providing volunteer care, enriching experiences and positive role models that support them in overcoming disadvantage. The organisation was established in 1960 as the Society of Sponsors, with an initial aim of preventing children from entering the juvenile justice system. Since its inception, Time for Kids has assisted more than 5,000 children and their families.
Time for Kids has been transforming the lives of children and young people in need, by matching them in lasting, family-like relationships with volunteer carers and mentors that change their life direction and outcomes.
The potential of this program has been limited only by the size of the organisation. This is where RASA will be able to provide strong support to realise this potential.
Time for Kids will continue to support the community under their brand and with their vision, which is very closely aligned to RASA. RASA will be the umbrella body for Time for Kids, but it will be business as usual for Time for Kids, where all money received will go directly to the program to support children and young people.
We look forward to working closely with and getting to know everyone associated with Time for Kids and making new connections in 2019.
