About Project

The Take Control project is jointly funded by the South Australian Minister for Communities and Social Inclusion and Relationships Australia South Australia.

Ten young Adelaide-area consultants worked with Relationships Australia South Australia staff to explore what gaming means to young people, what gaming too much looks and feels like, what sorts of public health and wellbeing messages make an impact and what the best strategies would be to get through to people aged 12-18 who are gaming to an unhealthy level.

All the consultants involved were paid for their time and will have letters of recommendation and certificates of involvement that they can use when applying for further education, scholarships or job opportunities.

Their insights not only went into writing and producing the strategy and approach for the video and marketing – they provided new ways of looking at problem gaming and gambling behaviours. We are grateful for the participation of these outstanding young people.
