International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world on March 8.
It is a day to recognise and celebrate the contributions women have made to the planet. While real gender equality is still to be realised, events like IWD are an opportunity to rejoice in the progress made over the last 108 years of IWD.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2019 is #BalanceforBetter. It takes all of us, both women and men working together for the same goal and vision, to break the barriers that divide us. Working towards a world where stereotypes and gendered roles are abandoned, women and girls everywhere can have equal rights and opportunities.
There are lots of ways you can get involved in IWD, here are some free ideas in Adelaide.
Please help make this year’s celebrations better than ever by spreading the attached flyer and event information far and wide through your networks and coming to the march on Friday 8 March 2019, 5:30pm Hindmarsh Square.
This event also includes a banner making workshop and an AFTER PARTY!
