Gambling Harm Awareness Week 2019

It’s Gambling Harm Awareness Week next week! We’re getting involved in the action and so can you!

This year’s Gambling Harm Awareness Week  theme is Research into Practice. In response to the 2018 South Australian Gambling Prevalence Survey, PEACE (Personal Empowerment And Community Engagement) Multicultural Services has designed and delivered resilience building training to young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The two-day training strengthened participants’ capacity to manage life challenges, including gambling related issues. Our Gambling Help Service and PEACE Multicultural Services are also hosting three great events that you’re invited to attend.

Video launch: The Roller Coaster of Gambling Addiction

The Roller Coaster of Gambling Addiction is a short film about diverse people affected by gambling problems. The film highlights the true stories of diverse people who overcame an unhealthy relationship with gambling. The film tells the stories of diverse people who struggle with gambling and its impact as well as their journey of recovery. CALD Consumers of Gambling Help Services worked collectively to create this resource as a way of increasing awareness in the communities.
