Narrative Approaches to Working with Children

April 21, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Description

In this one day training we will present some key ideas on Narrative Approaches to working with children. Narrative therapy is a respectful, engaging, and playful way to work with children and families. Narrative approaches support children and their families to reclaim authorship of their own lives in the face of vulnerability, and to take steps toward their hopes and dreams.

In this workshop there will be opportunities to practice some Narrative approaches that can be used when supporting children. There will also be space for discussion to support your thinking around how these ideas and practices may fit and build upon the work you are already doing.

Facilitator Niki Gelekis is very passionate about using Narrative Approaches in working with children and their families. Niki is a Clinical Supervisor and has been using Narrative approaches in practice for many years and is passionate about sharing Narrative Therapy ideas with others.
