Responding to Suicide Risk

Suicide is a complex worldwide phenomenon. In the last 45 years, suicide rates have increased by 60% (WHO 2009). In Australia, 7 people die every day (WHO 2004).

One million people in despair die by suicide around the world annually, choosing a permanent solution to what may be a temporary problem. We will explore some of the dynamics currently surrounding the intrapersonal crisis of suicide, and how to effectively respond.
