The square Resource is an educational program designed to help community-based service providers, primary health care and specialist health workers respond appropriately and effectively with people who are at risk of suicide.
Suicide Risk Assessment and Referral Pathways Training for Workers
Suicide Risk Assessment and Referral Pathways Training is a 3 hour training program covering risk assessment and referral pathways and will use material from the square program.The training will include conducting a risk assessment interview, scale of risk, care plans and management, engaging family, friends and other service providers.
Suicide Prevention Training for Workers
Suicide Prevention Training is an all day training program that will explore engagement strategies, suicide risk assessment and management, and will use material from the square program. The training will include exploring suicide risk and protective factors, engagement strategies, conducting a risk assessment interview, scale of risk, care plans and management, engaging family, friends and other service providers.
Talking About Suicide for Community Members
Talking About Suicide is a three hour or all day training program for community members to gain the knowledge and skills in order to respond to people at risk of suicide in their community. The training will include background information on suicide in Australia, exploration of risk factors and warning signals, assessing suicide risk, how to respond to suicide risk and building hope and resilience for the future.

Train the Trainer
Relationships Australia (SA) provides a Train the Trainer education course for anyone interested in developing their suicide risk assessment skills. Training can be organised in any location in Australia. Additional square resources will be made available to students upon completion of the course.
